March 7, 2021 - Atlanta, GA - Alberto Ciroi has been selected the 2020 UPSL Fall Season National Finals Most Valuable Player.

Ciroi did not allow a goal during open play and made two stops in the decisive shootout as Ginga Atlanta defeated Olympians FC, 0-0 (3-1), in the USPL National Championship Game at Silverbacks Stadium.

"It was a great game from both teams but we fought hard with 10 men and I was able to make a couple of saves (in the shootout). Our team is a family (and) it's an unbelievable feeling to be a National Champion," said Ciroi of Ginga Atlanta's first-ever USASA National League championship.

Ciroi only allowed two goals - both penalties to Brockton FC United in the National Semifinal - and finished the Championship Game with nine saves before heading to the shootout, where he just missed the first goal before saving two of Olympians' next three attempts and winning the game with with a diving stop to his left.

He totaled 17 saves in the two games at Silverbacks Stadium for Ginga Atlanta, which completed a record-breaking 21-0-0 season.

"He's a player that's on to big, big things. It's not surprising that he was huge for us in the Finals; he's been doing it all season," Ginga Atlanta Head Coach Joao Garcia said.

Born in Udine, Italy, Ciroi is the only three-time UPSL Player of the Week award winner in the league's 10-year history.
