Brockton FC United Holds On To Win UPSL National Third Place Game

Both Teams Score Twice In Final 15 Minutes In Wild Finish at Silverbacks Stadium

March 7, 2021 - Atlanta, GA - Brockton FC United was determined to make something of its weekend at Silverbacks Stadium.

Nilton DeAndrade, Alejandro Goncalves and Kevin Depina helped Brockton FC United charge out to a 3-0 lead before holding on to a 3-2 victory over Capital City SC in a UPSL National Third Place Game on Sunday.

Brockton FC United, the UPSL Northeast Region champion, finises the 2020 Fall Season with a 13-0-2 overall record.

DeAndrade gave Brockton the lead in 32nd minute when he finished off a pass from Ronaldinho Diniz, and the Goncalves and DePina added goals in the 76th and 78th minute, respectively, to take a commanding lead.

Capital City SC caught a break in the 85th minute when Parker Fyfe got his head on a free kick into the box from Anderson McDaniel to get back into the game.

The Austin, TX-based club added another goal when McDaniel got on the end of corner kick to score in the 91st minute, but were unable to mount another attack before the final whistle.

Capital City SC, the UPSL Central Region champion, suffered back-to-back one-goal losses at the National Finals and finish the season with a 10-1-5 record.
