Revitalized AC Commonwealth Claims Beltway Division Title in a Shootout

Rebranded ahead of its 2020 campaigh, AC Commonwealth - formerly Quakes FC - has added the first UPSL trophy to its case after defeating Northern Virginia United FC, 2-2 (5-4), in the Beltway Division Championship Game on Satuday night.

Assisted on both goals by captain Jeremy Brooker, Grievin Pacheco scored twice in regulation and was the fourth of five kick takers who converted in the shootout for AC Commonwealth (7-2-3 overall), which previously lost, 4-1, to NVUFC on Nov. 14.

Preston Bremus, Will Marshall, T.J. Cyrus and Pato Aguilera also converted their post-match kicks, and goalkeeper Luke Messick held firm in between the pipes in the win.

AC Commonwealth advances to play NY Contour United, the American Division champions, in a Round of 16 game on Dec. 12.
