July 10, 2020 – Los Angeles, CA – The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is excited to welcome Olympians FC as its newest Division I member.

Based in Glendale, AZ, Olympians FC begins UPSL play in the 2020 Spring Season as part of the Southwest Conference Arizona Division. The club hosts its UPSL home games at 100 Oaks Farm (13333 W. Olive Ave., El Mirage, AZ 85335) in compliance with UPSL National Division I standards.

UPSL Commissioner Yan Skwara said, "Arizona has always been fertile territory for the UPSL and we are pleased to announce Olympians FC as the newest member of the Southwest Conference. The club has a talented group of players already putting in the work to make a good impression going forward. We wish them luck as the season continues."

Daniel Ochoa is Owner and President of Olympians FC. Ochoa previously owned and operated Phoenix Monsoon, which competed in both the NPSL (2012) and the UPSL (2015-'16).

"We wanted to give the talented players in our community the opportunity to play in North America's best pro development league. The UPSL is the perfect place for our players to develop their skills and gain the attention necessary to progress as professionals," Ochoa said.

Marcelo Piana is Vice President and General Manager. A former professional footballer in Mexico and the United States, Piana is the owner of NXTLVL Sport. Roman Rubio is Assistant General Manager.

Adrian Gaitan is Head Coach and Carlos Padilla is Assistant Coach. Gaitan played professionally in Italy Greece and the United States and previously coached at CD San Roque de Lepe in Spain.

Olympians FC opened its inaugural season with a 3-0 victory over FC Arizona on Sunday, June 28, and followed with a 3-0 win over East Valley FC on Wednesday, July 1. The club plays FC Arizona U23 at Copper Sky Recreation Complex (44345 MLK Jr. Blvd, Maricopa, AZ 85138) at 7 p.m. PST on Saturday, July 11.

The UPSL was formed in 2011 and currently includes more than 300 teams nationwide. The UPSL is the largest Pro Development League in North America. Each UPSL team is individually owned and operated.

UPSL teams are eligible to participate in the U.S. Open Cup Qualifying Rounds through the league's affiliation with the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).
