March 31, 2020 – Los Angeles, CA – The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is pleased to announce the Chicago Mustangs as its newest Division I member.

Based in Chicago, IL, the Chicago Mustangs will begin UPSL play in the 2020 Season as part of the Midwest Conference Central Division I. The club is finalizing its venue options in compliance with UPSL National Division I minimum standards.

United Premier Soccer League Commissioner Yan Skwara said, "Chicago Mustangs is a big club with a big history and we're excited to welcome them to the UPSL. The Mustangs ownership group, led by Armando Gamboa and Dr. Sev Hrywnak, is well established on the indoor side for years. Now the club is ready to take the next step into the outdoor game by joining the UPSL's Midwest Conference Central Division to play alongside some of America's most historic amateur clubs like Milwaukee Bavarian Soccer Club and the Croatian Eagles. These are going to be great match ups and we anticipate the Chicago Mustangs competing in the UPSL for many years to come."

The Chicago Mustangs were founded by Armando Gamboa in 2012 and are currently owned and operated by Grand Partners LLC. The club plays in the Professional Arena Soccer League (PASL) Great Lakes Division and will now compete concurrently in the UPSL.

"We are excited to be part of the UPSL and continue to create opportunity for players that are looking to take their game to the next level as well as offer our fans a family oriented and affordable match experience. We truly believe that the UPSL is the most organized and most professional league in the Pro Development tier. The leadership of the UPSL has an understanding of what it takes to have a successful league and have proved it on and off the field. The Chicago Mustangs are proud to be joining the UPSL and we look forward to becoming an integral part of this already successful league," Gamboa said.

The Chicago Mustangs won the 2014 Ron Newman Cup and the 2014 U.S. Open Minifutbol championship.

The club will begin play when the UPSL resumes its 2020 league schedule.
