February 12, 2020 – Los Angeles – The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is pleased to announce FFA Comets as a member kicking off with the 2020 Spring Season.

Based in Apopka (Fla.), Futbol First Academy is a registered business in the State of Florida seeking non-profit status. FFA Comets will begin UPSL play in the Southeast Conference Florida Central Division. The club will host its home games at Northwest Recreation Complex (3700 Jason Dwelley Pkwy, Apopka, FL 32712) in compliance with UPSL National Division standards.

United Premier Soccer League Florida Division Manager Christian Vallejos said, "We're pleased to welcome FFA Comets to UPSL Florida Central Division. Futbol First Academy is doing good things for the youth of Central Florida. This is a club ready to test itself against a higher level of competition. We look forward to watching FFA Comets take the field during the upcoming 2020 Spring Season."

Futbol First Academy's youth teams are members of U.S. Club Soccer. FFA Comets will compete exclusively in the UPSL.

Roger Gonsalves is President and Head Coach of FFA Comets.

"We were approached by a group of players that wanted to train and compete at a higher level, and they needed a club and a place to play. We've been building something good for a while now, and we think this Spring Season is the right time for us to start," Gonsalves said.

Futbol First Academy was created in 2016 to offer youth players from less-fortunate families in Central Florida the opportunity to train and play in competitive games without the travel and costs of larger programs.

The club will announce its upcoming game schedule.
